    Tata Motors turning Green with “Tata Nano Hybrid”

    Recent developments in Indian Auto Industry suggest that Indian automobile giant Tata Motors is planning to sell a micro-hybrid version of its small car “Tata Nano”. Already being marked as 1 lakh rupees car, Tata Nano has gained good publicity as well as share in Indian automobile market. Furthermore, as an aftermath of sudden increment in petrol prices, major car companies are switching to diesel variants. With Tata Motors also standing in line up, the company is testing Tata Nano Diesel and if speculations are to be believed, the car has delivered a mileage of whopping 40kmpl.

    As far as official reports, Tata Company’s spokesperson hasn’t yet commented on the issue of developing a Hybrid Tata Nano. And, if the rumors are true then the Nano micro-hybrid will be yet another illustration of Tata Motors’ enhancing competencies in greener technologies. Besides it will also release an electric variant of the Tata Indica Vista in Europe this year.

    However, even with other efficient players in the segment like Maruti Alto, Ford Figo and Chevrolet Beat, Tata Nano has gained its special place in auto market. Further if pricing of cars is checked, after the Tata Nano price only Maruti Alto price is something which can be termed as “easy on wallet”. Furthermore, if sales figure of the Tata Nano is checked, the car clocked sales figure of 10,000 units last month. Also, till now company has sold around 80,000 Tata Nano cars since the launch of its first car from Sanand, Gujarat in June last year.
