Tata plans to bring in two or three car models in the passenger car and commercial vehicle segment from its Pantnagar production unit. The Indian auto mobile maker also plans to double the manufacturing of its vehicles from 250,000 to 500,000 every year.

Tata Motors sometime back launched Tata Venture the all new eight seator passenger van from its Pantnagar facility. The Indian auto company will launch two or three more new car models which includes passenger cars and commercail vehicles. After the manufacturing of Tata Nano the cheapest car in the world from Pantnagar manufacturing unit is focussing on the passenger car and commercail vehicle segment.

As per a close source, top officials from Tata Group visited Dehradun. The Pantnagar unit came close which was also sneaked by the company executives. As per the recent developments the company is looking forward to expand in the hilly region. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank Chief Minister Uttarkhand is hopful with the idea of the auto company coming and investing in the state. As per the state rule the comanpies which are present in the state are exempted from full excise duty, so it seems a feasible option for the company to go ahead with the expansion. If the company will expand it is likely to create 50,000 job options in Uttrakhand. As per the Chief Minister Tata Motors will continue to manufacture Tata Nano from its Pantnagar facility and the state will soon become Asia's biggest auto mobile hub.
