Tata Motors to develop Tata Towers to combat on road congestion

It has been a long time since auto major Tata Motors is facing blame of creating congestion on the Indian roads. Industry experts speculate the situation worsening in the coming couple of years thanks to the recent invention of the company, Tata Nano. Many automobile critics have given their opinion about Nano and have said that this cheapest car of the world may create problem of congestion on roads in future and it will leave no space to breathe on roads. Some of the research studies say that by the year 2030, twenty five percent area in Mumbai, the economic capital of India, would have been covered by cars and parking spaces.

Such estimates indicate that a lot of space will be devoted to only parking or automobiles in future. As far as Mumbai is concerned, the place is already short of space in terms of residential areas or car parking. Nonetheless, Tata Motors has put forth a solution to battle the diminishing space and presented its ambitious project, Tata Towers.

This project of Tata Motors has been termed as “Super Garage of the Future” by a famous news service company. The Tata Tower is expected to come up as a vertical parking garage. It will provide sufficient space for 4050 Tata Nanos. It will also offer the appropriate charging space for the electric vehicles. The towers will lift Tata Nanos up into groups along the tower. The tower will have some type of ticket system or code and this system will retrieve the car for the owner. The building of these towers will be equipped with many alternative energy systems including the photovoltaic louvers, tri-generation, building-integrated wind turbines etc.

Tata Towers will act as a charging point for electric vehicles and will also provide ample parking space. Besides these features, the Towers will have the capacity to house nine hundred and thirty residences for the employees of the company. These towers of the company have been designed by Seth Ellsworth and Jayoung Kim.

Tata Motors has the credit of manufacturing some of the popular cars in the market like Tata Nano (known as the People’s car), Tata Winger which is popularly called people’s carrier and Tata Indica which is undoubtedly one of the best selling hatchbacks after the model Maruti, particularly in the diesel segment.
