After inaugurating the GM’s LNG facility at its Halol plant, Balendran stated that even after the  fact that many auto giants have raised the prices for letting the cost impact pass on to the consumers, General Motors has stayed away from any such activity. He also clarified that this festive discount offer has been provided because of the upcoming auspicious occasions of Diwali and Navratri festivals. General Motors has decided to sell one lakh units in this financial year in India. Last year it had sold 69,000 units.

Balendran further commented that General Motors has even increased its production by starting a second shift at two of the plants for catering to the rising demand. He also said that the launch of Tata Nano has not made any effect on the company. The interest rates which have been announced by RBI are not going to hurt auto sales. Also the company has recorded good sales numbers, added Balendran.
