Tata Safari Storme launch imminent, to take on XUV 500
In next couple of weeks, Tata Motors will pull the wraps off its new and exciting 2012 Tata Safari Storme SUV. This SUV by Tata Motors is counted as one of the most anticipated SUVs in India since the time it was showcased at the 11th Auto Expo in New Delhi. The new Tata Safari Storme will be positioned just above the existing model of Tata Safari SUV and would directly compete with Mahindra XUV 500. The major highlight of 2012 Tata Safari Storme is it’s awesome off road capability, which might make it the best SUV in town.

The new Tata Safari Storme SUV will come with 4x4 gearbox, which lacks in XUV 500. In addition to this, the SUV has been built on a body-on-ladder frame, which is pretty different as far as the construction is concerned when being compared to the Mahindra XUV 500’s monocoque body. Besides the strong structure and superb off road capability, 2012 Tata Safari Storme will be blessed with 2.2 litre of DICOR common rail turbo diesel motor churning out 140 BHP of peak power and 320 Nm of maximum torque.

The engine has been coupled smartly with G76 mark II five speed transmission, which has refurbished and enhanced gear shifting. The 2012 Tata Safari Storme SUV will now come with a relocated space wheel, which will now be placed on the floorpan of the car’s rear then being placed on SUV’s tailgate.
