Update: The Tata Nexon EV facelift has been launched in India.

The Tata Nexon EV facelift is all set to launch tomorrow. It will be the electric SUV’s first major update, besides the small changes it has received over the past three years. Bookings for it are already underway and it has already reached dealerships.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Tata Nexon EV facelift:

Variants

The Nexon EV facelift is available in three broad trims - Creative, Fearless, and Empowered. The base variant is only available with the Mid-Range(MR) battery pack while the others get the choice of both MR and Long-Range (LR).

Exterior Styling

The Tata Nexon EV facelift goes under the knife for a completely fresh identity. Up front, it carries a more modern and futuristic appeal with connected LED DRLs, a sleeker closed-off grille, and Harrier EV-inspired split headlight setup.

Changes to the side are limited to the new 16-inch aerodynamically styled alloy wheels. The derriere flaunts connected LED tail lamps which, like the DRLs, support the welcome light function. The boot lid and bumper has been redesigned, and carry a more prominent and muscular look. To wrap up its look, the rear wiper has been neatly tucked into the spoiler.

While the styling changes are in line with the ICE-powered Nexon, there are still some distinctive updates.

The fresh identity continues inside the cabin, with a new dual-tone theme, and a redesigned dashboard layout. Inspired by the Tata Avinya concept is the new two-spoke steering wheel with a backlit display housing the Tata logo.

There’s a new touch-enabled climate control panel, similar to the regular Nexon. Lastly, the EV gets an exclusive seat upholstery depending on the variant.

New Features

A new 10.25-inch digital driver’s display has been added which also supports onscreen navigation. Tata employs its biggest touchscreen infotainment system yet: a 12.3-inch landscape-oriented unit.

Other new features include a 9-speaker JBL sound system and front passenger seat height adjustment. Electric sunroof, wireless phone charger, automatic AC, cruise control, and ventilated front seats were already a part of the Nexon EV’s features list.

In terms of EV-specific abilities, the new Nexon EV can also support V2L and V2V charging. These essentially allow you to use your electric SUV as a massive power bank to operate appliances (like while camping), or even help out another EV for a bit of added range.
