We all know Tata is desperately testing the AMT Nano and it has been spied several times during test runs in the country. This time the story is little different. Nano AMT has been spotted without any camouflage, on the streets of Pune. The car is scheduled to be launched in coming months as a model update for 2015.

The spied rear image of the car clearly depicts that the boot is now openable with a handle provided at the back alongwith a hole to insert key as well. It further clears the doubts of its being an AMT version as the badge F-Tronic and XTA on the image are evident. The AMT aka Automated Manual Transmission is the same set of gearbox working in Maruti Celerio and Alto K10 hatchbacks developed by Magnetti Marelli.

On the exterior front, the AMT version will feature new set of headlight cluster, honeycomb grille and revamped bumpers while inside the car, Tata is likely to adopt the power steering feature (EPAS) and other minor alterations. The car would get power from the same 625cc 2-cylinder engine that produces 37.5bhp and peak torque rated at 51Nm. With AMT under the hood, we might see slight change in the mileage figure.

Tata Motors has been updating the car from quite sometime as it failed to draw expected sales number since it was first launched. But now the car has been making amendments with the passage of time. Recently, company launched Nano Twist base variant XE with power steering at the price tag of INR 2.06 lac, making it the most affordable power-steering car in the country. Nano also bagged the ‘Most Trusted Brand’ award in hatchback category.
