Mitsubishi, the Japanese automaker has showcased its three new concept at the ongoing 84th Geneva Motor Show named as Concept AR, Concept GC – PHEV, and Concept XR-PHEV. First unveiled in the Tokyo Motor Show in November '13, the three concepts outlines the manufacturers innovative thinking in the field of hybrid segment.

The Concept AR (Active Runabout) provides the sportiness of SUV car with the cabin space of an MPV segment. With an ample space for six people to sit comfortably, the concept is powered by hybrid engine of 1.1-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a small BSG torque circuit with 48V lithium-ion battery. The power from engine is transferred to its front wheels via a CVT gearbox.

Near the grand stand was company's another concept named as XR-PHEV. The XR in the name stands for Cross Over Runner (X=Cross). Fit for four people, the hybrid engine delivers a mileage of 28kmpl, while in the plug-in mode it has a range of 85kms. The third vehicle GC-PHEV is four wheel drive vehicle comes under the SUV segment. GC (Grand Cruiser), houses a bulky engine of specification 3.0-litre V6 supercharged gasoline engine. The power is distributed to all the wheels by an eight speed automatic transmission. Depending upon the driving condition, one can switch between the pure EV mode or Hybrid Mode.
