Mahindra Jeeto Launched at Rs. 2.35 lac

In a bid to cater to the lower end of the commercial vehicle space, Indian auto giant Mahindra has launched the Jeeto at Rs. 2.35 lac rupees. The Jeeto is all-set to take over duties from the Mahindra Gio which shall be retired soon.

The Jeeto is a mini truck as Mahindra calls it - and is available in 3 variants namely - S (small), L (large) and X (extra-large) Series. The Mahindra, is powered by a single cylinder, water cooled 625cc engine mated to a 4 speed manual gearbox. The direct injection engine is christened mDura and has been developed ground up by Mahindra R&D. The engine can be had in either a 11hp or 16hp state of tune. Torque remains the same at 38nm across the engine options.

The LCV carries the Mahindra family's distinctive toothy grille flanked by tiny circular headlamps. The Jeeto can be had with either a 5.5ft, 6ft or 6.5ft deck and with a payload capacity of either 600 or 700 kgs. The interior has a functional layout, with a dash mounted gear lever and adequate space for two people. Mahindra claims the Jeeto has 'car-like' comfort.It also gets a 12V socket, map holder, coin holder among other cubby holes.

With a claimed mileage of 27.8 to 37.6km/l depending on the variants and a 2 year warranty, the Jeeto certainly looks like it will give the Piaggio Ape, Tata Ace and Mini Ace a run for their money.
