    Hyundai India's sales grew over 28% in April 2010

    Hyundai Motor India Ltd, Country's largest car exporter and the second largest car manufacturer has posted a 28.1% domestic sales growth over the same month of last year.

    Hyundai India's total sales for the month of April 2010 stood at 52,020 units as compare to 44,370 units sold in the same month last year, accounted for a cumulative growth of 17.2%. Where the domestic sales of the company increased to 28,501 units as against 22,247 units in April 2009, the exports jumped from 22,123 units in April 2009 to 23,519 units, registered a 6.3% growth YOY.

The recently launched refurbished i20 has further strengthened its position, as it has received a tremendous response from the market and has become the growth driver for the segment. company is sure to see a continuous rise in demand for the i20, said, HMIL’s sales performance Arvind Saxena, Director - Marketing and Sales, HMIL.

    The segment-wise cumulative sales for Hyundai India, for the month of April 2010 are as follows: A2 Segment (Santro, i10, Getz & i20) 46,059 units; A3 Segment (Accent & Verna) 5,944 units; A5 Segment (Sonata Transform) 17 units; and SUV Segment ( Tucson) 0 unit.
