Ford EcoSport Diesel Version Launches in Argentina

The American car maker Ford that already sells its flagship compact SUV EcoSport in Argentina, has now launched the diesel engine powered EcoSport there. Ford also sells the EcoSport in the markets of Brazil and China, while India and Europe are still waiting for its launch. Ford India is likely to launch the compact SUV by June this year.

Ford EcoSport Diesel

The Argentina spec EcoSport features the similar 1.5-litre turbocharged TDCi diesel engine, which will also power the India bound EcoSport. The similar engine also does its duty to the company's flagship sedan and returns an impressive 89bhp along with 204Nm of peak torque.

The other two engine options on offer in the Argentinian market are a 1.6L Sigma and a 2.0-litre Duratec petrol motors. While in India, there will be two different petrol units- a 1.5-litre petrol (used in Fiesta) and the award winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine along with the above mentioned 1.5-litre turbocharged TDCi diesel unit. The Indian market is likely to get an automatic transmission version as well, which is to fitted in the 1.5-litre petrol engine powered version.

Ford hasn't yet announced the Indian launch date for the EcoSport, we are expecting it to happen sometime in June, while the official bookings to start in May. This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the same. Cheers!
