Chevrolet Sail Hatchback's new Diesel Variant Coming Soon at Rs 5.29 lakh
General Motors India that reduced the prices of its all new Sail U-VA hatchback some days back, has now introduced a new base diesel variant of the car at a price of Rs. 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company hasn't however officially confirmed about the same, the company's official website has been updated with all the information related to the new variant.
Positioned against the segment leader Maruti Suzuki Swift, the Sail U-VA however could not create the buzz it expected at the time of the launch, and seeing the growing interest for diesel cars in India, Chevrolet has priced the new base variant even lesser to that of the entry level diesel variant of Swift. Initially, the vehicle was launched at an introductory price of Rs 4.44 lakh, which was later brought down to Rs 4.19 lakh earlier this month. So all things suggest the company's seriousness towards making the car a very affordable one for all.
The new base diesel variant of the new Sail hatchback is likely to be similar to that of the petrol base variant in terms of features. So, don't expect it to carry the features like ABS, EBD, Audio system, rear wiper and defogger and airbags to be there on the new base variant. However, it will still have some essential features like manually-operated air-conditioner, tilt adjust steering wheel, front power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, fabric seats and remote boot opener, making it a decent buy at a price of Rs 5.29 lakh.
