Bollywood Actress Taapsee Pannu Drives Home A Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV

One of Bollywood’s leading actresses, Taapsee Pannu, has bought herself a swanky ride in the form of a Mercedes-Maybach GLS. The SUV seems to be finished in the Mojave Silver single-tone paint option. The Thappad fame actress was already a part of the 3-pointed star family with a Mercedes-Benz GLE in her garage.

As the flagship luxury SUV from Mercedes-Benz, the Maybach GLS is a popular choice in B-town. Recently, Rakul Preet Singh too got herself the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, while Ranveer Singh became a proud owner of the same back in 2021.

More About The SUV

The GLS is the biggest SUV offered by Mercedes-Benz but the levels of luxury are taken up a notch when the Maybach moniker is brought into the picture. The German marque brought the Maybach GLS SUV to India in 2021, in a single fully loaded 600 4MATIC+ variant, which is now priced at Rs 2.96 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

Powertrain Details

The India-spec Maybach GLS is equipped with a 4-litre V8 bi-turbo petrol engine (557PS/730Nm) with 48V mild-hybrid tech. It offers an additional 22PS and 250Nm boost under hard acceleration and otherwise assists with boosting efficiency. This unit comes paired with a 9-speed AT and gets an all-wheel drivetrain.

Packed With Tech

Mercedes has provided the Maybach GLS with two 12.3-inch connected screens, 64-colour ambient lighting, wireless charging in the front and rear, a panoramic sunroof, a 7-inch MBUX tablet in the rear armrest to control various functions, and rear electric sunblinds. The luxury SUV also gets an in-car refrigerator with champagne glasses, 4-zone climate control, optional 11.6-inch rear entertainment screens, and a 13-speaker Burmester sound system.

One of the more quirky features of the Maybach GLS 600 is its adaptive and adjustable air suspension which also gets a bounce mode.

Who Are Its Rivals?

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS rivals in India are the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga. It stands a step above other German luxury SUVs like the BMW X7 and Audi Q7.
