    575 Honda CR-V units and 10,805 Honda Accord to be recalled in India

    Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) has announced that it will recall 575 units of CR-V and 10,805 units of Accord for preventive replacement of Passenger Side Air Bag inflator and Driver side Air Bag inflator respectively. The CR-V units to be recalled are manufactured in year 2004 and Accord units manufactured from year 2003 to 2007. One unit of Honda Civic will also be recalled for Passenger Side Air Bag Inflator. Though there has been no reporting of any incident related to these parts, this recall is a part of Honda’s global recall/ safety improvement campaign concerning Air Bag inflators.

    Honda will begin the recall process from 4th June 2015 and will get in touch with the customers directly. The replacement would be carried out free of cost at HCIL dealerships across India in a phased manner. Customers can check whether their car will be covered under this campaign by submitting their 17 character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the special microsite which has been created on the company’s website (www.hondacarindia.com).
