120 bhp Tata Bolt Heading for the 2015 Geneva Motor Show

Tata always has a presence at the prestigious Geneva Motor Show, over the past years the company had showcased various concept at the Swiss show. This year, at the 85th Geneva Motor Show in the first week of March, the JLR owners will showcase a hotter version of the recently launch Bolt hatchback. The powerful Bolt will wear a new badge of the upcoming Tata’s performance wing, which the automaker is planning to launch by the end of this year.

Starting with the engine, the sportier Bolt will use the same 1.2-liter Revotron turbocharged petrol engine. This said, the power output will not be 90 PS like the stock hatch but it will be close to 120 horses! The current torque of the stock hatch - 140 Nm is most likely to be elevated by 50-60 Nm. The power will be handled by a new 5-speed manual gearbox compared to what is offered in the standard Bolt petrol. Moreover, suspensions will also be worked upon to handled the increased engine output along with the braking. Ride height is also expected to be lowered.

Speaking of the design changes, the performance oriented Bolt will reflect its sportier nature from its exteriors too. Expect beefed-up bumpers and wheel arches along with other changes to make its profile sportier. Interiors will also be updated with respect to its exteriors. Stay tuned.
