Maruti is planning to expand its Nexa-premium-dealerships to 140 across the country this year. On Friday, it has opened its 100th outlet at Thane in Mumbai. It is a significant achievement which this carmaker has managed to achieve within a period of just six months, starting July 2015

Now, around 60 cities in the country have Nexa Showrooms which are introduced by Maruti India to help it earn an image make-over. The strategy seems to have worked for the manufacturer as it has managed to sell 40,000 units through these outlets. These dealerships are home to some of the finest and high-end offerings from Maruti.

Buoyed by the positive response they have received from these dealership and service outlets, the carmaker is planning to take the count to 250 by April 2017. Also to make the visit to these showrooms a wonderful and memorable experience for the customers, Maruti is planning to improve the quality of service. For this, Maruti will be increasing the number of customer relations managers from 2,500 to 5,000.

Speaking at the event organized for the opening of the 100th showroom, R.S. Kalsi, executive director (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki, said, “We are delighted to start the 100th Nexa showroom ahead of our plan. Through Nexa, we want to meet the diverse expectations of our customers. Customer feedback and surveys show us that there is a growing segment of car buying Indians who value personal care, warmth and attention in their car buying and ownership experience. Nexa is designed for this segment of customers. It brings together people, technology, showroom ambience and processes to deliver the desired experience to this segment of customers.”

At present, two of Maruti’s model S-Cross, a premium crossover and the popular Baleno which is a premium hatchback are sold at these outlets and in near future more models will be joining this line-up. All this is part of Maruti’s strategy for achieving its target of selling 2 million vehicles per annum by 2020.
