Hyundai Creta N Line expert overview
Overview
The Creta is one of Hyundai’s top selling nameplates in India and rightfully so, as the compact SUV offers premium looks, rich cabin, feature-loaded package, and multiple engine options. It is a proper family SUV, but for those who like those qualities with a bit of a sportier packaging, Hyundai offers the Creta N Line. It gets a similar treatment to Hyundai’s other N Line products in India and goes up against the likes of the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo, Volkswagen Taigun GT, and Kia Seltos X-Line.
But for its sportier feels, does the Creta N Line ask too much of a compromise on the qualities that make it such a great family vehicle? Let’s find out:
Exterior
Design (4 out of 5)
The Creta N Line’s design immediately stands out from the standard Creta, and you can tell that this is no regular family SUV. The slight revisions to the design and sporty red inserts are enough to give it a unique identity.
Elements like the LED headlights, LED DRLs and sequential turn indicators are the same as you get in a standard Creta, but the grille and bumper styling is different. Save for the new 18-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers and red outlining on the side sill, the profile styling is largely identical.

The rear profile is where the Creta N Line probably looks the sportiest. The revisions to the bumper that include the small diffuser-like element and dual exhaust tips weren’t seemingly sporty enough, so Hyundai went ahead and plonked a roof-mounted spoiler inspired by their rally vehicles.
The end result is that you get an SUV that still has a rather family-friendly design, but with a significant increase in its sporty intent.

Hyundai offers the Creta N Line with 3 monotone shades: Titan grey matte, Abyss black, and Atlas White. There are 3 dual-tone shades available as well: Thunder Blue, Shadow Grey, and Atlas White. I personally really like the dual tone treatment of the Shadow Grey shade, which looks really sinister with the red accents.
Interior
Design and Quality
The layout of the Creta N Line’s cabin is identical to the standard SUV, but it gets an all-black theme with red inserts for the sporty feel. You still feel like you’re sitting inside a premium and ergonomic cabin that happens to be sporty-looking, especially because of its N-line specific elements like the steering wheel, gear knob, and pedals.
Just like the standard Creta, the quality, fit and finish is good. The plastics have a smooth finish, the buttons have weight to them, and there’s generous use of leatherette material on major touchpoints.
Front Seats
Getting in and out of the Creta N line is fairly simple. Finding a comfortable driving position is super easy too, thanks to tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, and manual seat height adjustment being offered as standard.
An 8-way powered driver seat is available in the top variant, which eliminates the need to set the seat manually. There are no complaints in terms of comfort either, as the seats offer good cushioning and a wide backrest that accommodates all frames. Front passengers will appreciate the central armrest on long journeys.
Rear Seats
The rear seats of the Creta N Line offer plenty of space at the rear for an average-sized adult. While knee and footroom is plenty, really tall occupants might want a tad more headroom. Underthigh support is good too. The cabin is wide too, so you can accommodate three people in fair comfort. The middle passenger will miss the central headrest though.

I enjoyed using the 2-step recline in the rear seats, which help you relax on longer journeys. Equipment like a central armrest, rear AC vents and sun shades help maintain that comfort.
Storage and Practicality
Despite having a sportier vibe, the Creta N Line asks for no compromise in storage options compared to the standard Creta. All four doors get 1-litre bottle pockets, there are two cup holders in the central console for the front passengers, and the wireless charging pad area can be used to store loose items like a wallet.
The passenger side dashboard gets an open slab, which can be used to keep their devices. The glovebox compartment is cooled and offers decent space to keep multiple cold drink cans. The central armrest has a small space tucked away beneath it.
For the rear passengers, there are seatback pockets, a small phone tray underneath the rear AC vents, and two cupholders in the central armrest.
Charging Options
The Creta N Line packs three type-C charging ports, one for the front occupants and two for the rear. There is also a USB type-A port and 12V socket for the front passengers. Both front and rear occupants get a wireless phone charger in the 2025 Creta N Line.
Features (4 out of 5)
Just like the standard Creta, the Creta N Line also impresses when it comes to the features on offer.
| Creta N Line Features | |
| 8-way powered driver seat | Auto folding outside mirrors |
| Push-button start/stop | Cruise control |
| Auto headlights | Keyless entry |

The 10.25-inch touchscreen has fast response times and crisp graphics. It is easy to use and gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but no wireless connectivity. The 10.25-inch digital driver’s display also has crisp graphics and multiple themes. It also displays the side feed when you indicate, which is helpful in heavy traffic.

I enjoyed using the 8-speaker BOSE branded audio system on my daily commutes. Dual-zone climate control is nice to have, but the ventilated seats bring the real relief that your back needs on a hot sunny day. The Creta N Line also features a panoramic sunroof that can be controlled via voice commands, and makes the cabin feel more airy.
Safety
Save for autonomous driving assistance features (ADAS), front parking sensors, and auto inside mirror, all of the safety equipment is offered as standard with the Creta N Line.
The 360-degree camera of the Creta works well with good camera quality and multiple viewing angles. I like that you can access it with the tap of a button for when you need that re-assurity while maneuvering the car in tight traffic.
Just like the standard car, the Creta N Line hasn’t been crash tested by any independent agency yet.
Boot Space
The Hyundai Creta N Line has a 433-litre boot. The boot is wide but shallow, so using small cabin-sized trolley bags is the best way to maximise the space available. With one medium and one small suitcase, you can still store a couple of duffle bags in the boot. Using one big suitcase will only leave you room for duffle bags and loose items.
The rear seats have a 60:40 split, so you can fold them down to store larger items. The seats fit flush with the boot, so pushing those items inside is easy as well.
Performance
Unlike the standard Creta which gets multiple petrol and a diesel engine option, the Creta N Line gets a sole 1.5-litre, four cylinder, turbo-petrol engine. There are two transmission options: 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual clutch automatic (DCT).
| Engine | 1.5-litre turbo-petrol |
| Output | 160 PS / 250 Nm |
| Transmission | 6-speed MT / 7-speed DCT |
| Claimed fuel efficiency | 18 kmpl (MT) / 18.2 kmpl (DCT) |
This engine is smooth and refined, but can put a smile on your face when you hustle the car.
City Performance
The Creta N line is effortless to drive in the city. The engine is calm and refined at slow speeds and can keep up the pace with traffic easily. However, I noticed that you might have to downshift to a lower gear at slow speeds, as the engine tends to stutter a fair bit.
All overtakes are instant, you don’t have to plan anything, and you will enjoy making your way through traffic with the manual transmission. The shifts have a nice mechanical feel to them, while the clutch feels light, so you don’t mind using it in city’s heavy traffic and it lets you have fun too.
The dual clutch automatic is the same smooth and quick shifting unit as found in the standard car, and you can go choose it for its convenience factor over the manual.
Depending on the traffic, you will get a fuel efficiency of anywhere between 7-10kmpl in the city.
Highway Performance
You will enjoy driving the Creta N line on a highway. The engine feels quick and responsive, and it reaches triple digit speeds quickly. It cruises silently at speeds of 100-120kmph, and still has enough power to make an overtake at those speeds.
The DCT works flawlessly when you ask for a quick downshift, and offers snappy upshifts when you’re hustling the car. Similarly, you will enjoy using the manual here too.

You can expect a fuel efficiency of around 10-12kmpl on the highway.
Overall, the Hyundai Creta N Line’s engine options might be non-existent, but that single engine gets the job done beautifully.
Ride and Handling
Ride Quality
The Hyundai Creta N Line, despite its 18-inch alloys and slightly stiffer suspension, feels mostly comfortable. Regular city imperfections and speed breakers are absorbed with ease, and even the scary and sharp potholes don’t translate to a lot of discomfort on the inside. You do move around and feel some side-to-side motion over really rough roads, but that too isn’t uncomfortable.
Any level change at high speeds or expansion joints over flyovers is dealt with well.
Handling
The Creta N Line feels as easy to drive in the city as a regular Creta. But on a highway, it feels more confident to drive at higher speeds, with better control while making a high-speed lane change.
Adding to the sporty feel is the steering wheel, which is not just better to grip, but also has added weight, which lets you corner hard with confidence. The car remains stable when you push it hard, and while there is body roll, you will enjoy using it in hilly areas or ghat sections.
Variants
-
The Hyundai Creta N Line can be had in two variants: N8 and N10.
Hyundai Creta N Line N8
-
Looks exactly like the top trim with a full LED setup, 18-inch alloys, and roof-mounted spoiler.
-
Save for red ambient lighting, the interior is also the same as the top-spec variant with a black theme, N Line-specific bits, and leatherette inserts.
-
All basic functional features are covered, and feel-good highlights include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, push button start/stop, auto outside mirrors, and wireless phone charging (front).
-
The infotainment package gets a 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a colored MID display for the driver, and a 6-speaker sound system.
-
Safety kit packs 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts, rear defogger, rear parking camera, electronic stability control, hill assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Hyundai Creta N Line N10
-
The interior only gets two additions: red ambient lighting and rear seat headrest cushion.
-
Top feature additions include voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, front ventilated seats, 2X type-C chargers (rear), wireless phone charger (front and rear), and 8-way powered driver seat.
-
Improved infotainment package with a 10.25-inch touchscreen system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and an 8-speaker BOSE sound system.
-
The safety kit adds rain sensing wipers, Level-2 ADAS features, 360-degree camera and auto inside mirror.
CarDekho Recommends:
-
With only two variants on offer, the base variant is a good option for people wanting the sportier version of the Creta, without having to sacrifice on the features.
-
The top-spec variant can be opted for the full N Line experience. Its premium over the standard Creta for all its sporty cosmetic and small mechanical tweaks feel justified.
Verdict
The Creta N Line is a great choice for people who want to keep their enthusiastic spirit of a petrol head alive, but at the same time, also cater to the needs and comfort of their family. Because while the drive experience is largely the same, the N Line builds on all the family-friendly qualities of the standard Creta, and adds tasteful visual cues that make it look and feel more sporty.
