Mahindra XUV500 is best in this segment due to its high (200mm) ground clearance. The XUV 500 was launched in September 2011, and by June 2012 it was available in 19 cities in India. The XUV500 is powered by a 2.2 litre (2179 cc) "mHawk" turbo diesel engine similar to the one in the Mahindra Scorpio. It develops 140 bhp (104 kW; 142 PS) @ 3750 rpm and torque of 330 N·m (243 lb·ft). The XUV500 can accelerate 0–60 km/h in 5.4 seconds and 0–100 km/h in 12.5 seconds and reach a top speed o
Look and Style : No doubt Mahindra has done a fantabulous job by launching this car in the market. It looks awesome on the road. The most liked feature by my family is the mood lighting and white LED in headlamps, but the dealer informed us not to use LED and DRL as there is some issue in it, so I use it only at during the night. Secondly, the blue light comes out from the headlamps originally so no need to go to accessory shop for blue bulbs. I think Mahindra is creating its identity by blue bu
Look and Style: It looks awesome especially in white colour. Comfort: Its a comfortable vehicle with lots of space. I drove it from Jharkhand to Karnataka and found it comfortable in all the aspects. Pickup: It reaches 100kmph quickly and the brakes are also very responsive. Mileage: Its a diesel vehicle and gives around 17 kmpl. Best Features: Automated parking sensors & Airbags. Needs to improve: Rear parking cameras. Overall Experience: I am satisfied with the performance of this v
Look and Style: It looks great. Comfort: Its a comfortable car. Pickup: Its good too. Mileage: Around 13Kmpl Needs to improve: I would like to suggest Mahindra to work on the quality of the plastics. Overall Experience: I have done around 5000 km on my XUV, including a Delhi to Mumbai trip. It was a great experience. I have been from Delhi to Mumbai in eight different cars. There was no issue driving the XUV non-stop for 21 hours. It's overall a good SUV. I and my friends are planning
Before purchasing the XUV 500, I have gone through all types of SUV (Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Captiva, Tata Strome, Mahindra Scorpio, Ford Endeavour). Biggest plus point of this SUV is that it does not have any problem regarding its engine and transmission system. You can verify from all the posts and reviews available on the internet. You will not find any single post complaining about it. All problems are regarding it electronics, braking, and suspensions. As of braking, it has improved a l
Look and Style : It’s almost like Outlander, which I always hated in terms of looks. SUVs are all about looks, high seating, ground clearance, internal space somehow it doesn't fulfil any of these. Proportions are bad, you have to make it so narrow on top? it’s just eccentricity to map an SUV to an animal would have been better if designers had stuck to automobile designs (narrow top reminds of Maruti Swift). From inside it seems like a tunnel with a narrow glass opening in the rear. Big ty
Got a chance to test drive this vehicle, the performance is ok while driving you feel same as the Scorpio. But seating style is different as compared to the Scorpio. So the handling also little different. Actually to be frank I don't like the vehicle in its appearance. Mahindra is still not learning to make the shape and finishing. The front shape and flat roof are better as compared to another vehicle. But the side view is pathetic. Interior are not worth for the money as compared to the E
Look and Style: Good. Comfort: Average. Pickup: Good. Mileage: Average. I am writing to inform all of an honorific negative experience I had on 28th September when I bought XUV 500 W8 From K.S.Automobile, Udaipur. First when I showed my interest in the XUV ( No loan-self payment in one go), the sales team came down to my house but when I paid full amount they went missing and not even a call back only when I wrote a mail the reply was " I will check and come back" from a person wh
Being a passionate SUV enthusiast, I was very happy when I heard that several SUV’s will be launched this year. But as I had no time on hand and had to purchase a vehicle immediately. The search led me to a Mahindra India outlet, as this company is quite renowned in manufacturing SUV’s in the country. It was instant magnetism that pulled me towards the brilliant Mahindra XUV 500, as soon as I entered their showroom. This SUV is designed so stylishly with wonderful exteriors and amazing comfort i
Mahindra claims that the SUV is a world class SUV but the people selling the car are nonsense. The company owned car dealers in Mumbai have put up a special helpline number for XUV Sales. When you call that number a lady answers and talks as if a railway inquiry person would, zero product knowledge, zero communication skills, zero customer service and manners. I would have really like that the Mahindra management would have spent some time and money in tanning these people or putting the right s
Mahindra & Mahindra Claims that the safety airbag will be deployed in case of a collision but in it didn't happen in my case. The car was hit by a speeding bus and the Airbags didn't deploy. The car was badly damaged and the passengers got hurt despite having the safety bag inside it.
Look and Style : The looks are very nice. Comfort : It is very comfortable for the driver to drive and the person who sits back, the leg room in the car is very good. Pickup : Excellent. Look and Style: It is definitely one of the better-looking SUVs out there. Comfort: Very comfortable except for the last row. Pickup: Good. It overtakes other vehicles without breaking a sweat. Mileage: I have done about 15,000 km and I'm getting nearly 13kmpl. Best Features: Its ride and handling, especially in the mountains with plenty of twists and turns. Needs to improve: A lot! I've faced endless niggling issues. Starting with the maps that require a genius to rea
