Maruti Ciaz & Ertiga SHVS Exempted from Odd-Even Rule
Maruti’s premium sedan Ciaz and MPV Ertiga’s facelift are exempted from this scheme. The exemption is only applicable for hybrid units of these cars which come with a diesel engine. Both of these cars enjoy Rs.13000 subsidy from the government and benefits under the FAME(Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) initiative.
Good news for all you Delhi residents out there! If you were looking for a way to “bypass” the odd-even rule which has been implemented in Delhi, then your prayers have been answered. Maruti’s premium sedan Ciaz and MPV Ertiga’s facelift are exempted from this scheme. The exemption is only applicable for hybrid units of these cars which come with a diesel engine. Both of these cars enjoy Rs.13000 subsidy from the government and benefits under the FAME(Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) initiative.
The perks come as a courtesy of the hybrid powerplants seen in these cars, which come prepped with Maruti’s SHVS(Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology. The system features automatic start-stop system, brake energy recuperation system and an ISG(Integrated Starter Generator). SHVS technology enhanced the fuel-efficiency of Ertiga facelift by 18% (,) which helped the car achieve a fuel economy stat of 24.2kmpl. Similarly, the fuel economy of Ciaz sedan was improved from 26.21kmpl to 28.09kmpl with the incorporation of SHVS technology.
Other cars that are exempted from this rule include CNG vehicles, Electric cars, Hybrid cars, emergency vehicles, VIP cars and cars driven by women. Both Ciaz and Ertiga facelift fall under the Hybrid cars’ exemption category.
