Mercedes Benz B Class – A Pre-Diwali Gift for India
The first sports tourer, B Class of the country from one of the finest and oldest luxury car maker of India, Mercedes Benz is all set to break covers before Diwali. The Mercedes Benz B Class is said to be in the final stages of the testing and the certification on road worthiness at the ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India). As per close sources the car will wind up the tests at ARAI in the next 10-15 days after which the car will be readying up for the much-awaited launch.
Word is, this new entry level car will be made available in both petrol and diesel avatars; the petrol mill will include 1.6L B189 engine that is capable of pumping out 122bhp of power and B200 engine that generates 156bhp. The diesel version of the car will run on the 1.8L common-rail diesel engine that can generate 109bhp and 136bhp of peak power. The engine will be mated either to a 7G-DCT dual-clutch or a six-speed manual transmission system.
The safety features expected to be doing duty in the car include the Pre-Safe, Lane Assist and Blind Spot. The price tag of the car is expected fall in Rs. 23-29 lakh range as the car will enter India through the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. This newfangled car is definite to emerge as the arch nemesis of the current segment leaders BMW X1 and Audi Q3.
