Hyundai plans to launch more cars in India

Hyundai India is all set and geared up for launching new models across all segments in the Indian auto market. Hyundai aspires to modify its image of being a small car manufacturer to become a stronger competent in producing mid-sized Sedan. Hyundai mentioned this aim to public today at the launch of its new adaptation of Hyundai Verna, which will be available in both diesel as well as petrol variants. Verna would be available to consumers at the price of approximately Rs. 6.99 Lakh to Rs. 10.75 Lakh.

Hyundai has a limitation in terms of production, as it keeps the capacity of manufacturing about 6 Lakh units per annum. Therefore, Hyundai India's main emphasis is to take over the Indian Auto Market. HMIL (Hyundai Motor India Ltd) is an integral part of Hyundai Motor Company (HMC). According to the CEO and president of HMC, S S Yang, HMIL is growing with a quick pace in the Indian Auto Market so, more new models will be introduced in the country.

This established firm has been pretty successful with its previous coupes, such as Hyundai Verna fluidic, Santro and many more. But, it also has so much competition from Volkswagen Vento, Maruti SX4, Honda City and Fiat. Yang stressed a lot on assuring that Indian Market is an absolute priority for the firm and up till now they have invested approximately Rs. 8000 Crore in the HMIL. And currently, about Rs.4000 Crore are being invested to install a diesel engine plant in India.

Apart from Hyundai Santro and Verna, there are other models manufactured by Hyundai which saw huge success, including Sedan Sonata Transform, Santa Fe, Accent, i10 and hatchback i20. Indian market added in around 8% to the main HMC worldwide sales that were approximately 36 Lakh units in the previous year.Yang was pretty confident and told the media that with new version of Verna, Hyundai will surely make a mark within the mid-sized sedan section.

The new Hyundai Verna has a few features that are not present even on cars higher in the segment.

Hyundai Verna appears to be a good car but no safety features like air bag and ABS system. Harish
