When it comes to graceful looking cars, few automakers can rival Hyundai. The South-Korea based conglomerate may fall short with rivals like Toyota or Nissan, but it still has a good enough grip on the international car market. Known for their ‘fluidic’ design cars, the Hyundai California Design Center has so far created several outstanding concept vehicles. One of these is the HCD-8 Sports Tourer.

This concept from Hyundai showcases their ability to produce classic looking cars with the performance of a sports vehicle. Accentuating that ability is the   Ballistic Yellow tri-color paint from Nippon. While the exteriors boast the looks of a classic sports car, the interiors show-off two-tone Vapor Grey leather seating surfaces accented by wood flooring and wood and aluminium accented steering wheel rim and shift lever knob.

The Hyundai HCD-8 is based on Hyundai’s coupe models with slight technical and design changes. It comes with a 2.7-litre V-6 configuration engine and is 4,314mm in length. The wheelbase of the car is 2,629mm while the overall height and width are 1,298mm and 1,760mm respectively.

The luggage capacity on the HCD-8 is an impressive 443-litre with the rood closed and 244-litres with it folded. New 18 inch wheels with 225/40 x 18 Michelin tyres give a lighter and more sportive outlook to the HCD-8. There is as yet no talk of this vehicle being put into production but Hyundai say this may well be what a next-generation Hyundai sports car could look like.
