Car sales may witness a upswing with new launches

Last few months have not been quite good for Indian Car Market, as a massive downfall was seen in car sales in the country. But, good news for Indian car buyers, as the second half of 2011 won’t disappoint them at all. Many cars are ready to launched in the country and astonish their consumers with their features.

Almost every car manufacturer is planning to launch a new car by the end of the year. Even these cars makers might launch some affordable SUVs and to compact hatchback cars with diverse fuel engine options. So there will be quite a range for the consumers to choose from. The car manufacturers have high hopes that these new car launches might boost up the car sales. The rise of only 19% was seen in the first half of the year, whereas, this rise was around 31% in the same months in 2010.

Even Hyundai India, which stands proudly on the 2nd rank on the list of largest car manufacturer in India, is also planning to launch a few cars by the month of December 2011. It is expected that Hyundai Motors might launch a small 4 door car, which will have 800cc engine and could be priced within the same range as Hyundai Santro. Two more luxury sedans from Hyundai, Hyundai i40 and Hyundai Elantra might also hit the Indian roads by the end of this year. However, there hasn’t been any official statement on the car launches by Hyundai till now.

Another leading car manufacturer, Maruti India is expected to launch its new Maruti Swift this year. However, according to the rumors, the new Maruti Swift was actually slated for its launch in the month of June, but has been postponed because of the strike at its Manesar Plant.

One is expected to see more of hatchback cars in the second half, which includes New Maruti Swift, Toyota Etios Liva and Chevrolet Beat. Even Honda India is all set with its compact car, known as Honda Brio. According to the VP of sales and Marking of Honda Siel, Honda Brio will be launched around October.

Therefore, around this festive season, the car makers might expect a boost in the car sales. Some of the other cars that are expected to be launched in the second half of the year include, Nissan Sunny, which is a mid-sized sedan and this car will be within the price range of Rs. 7 Lakh. General Motors and SAIC will also be launching a compact sedan in their joint collaboration during the end of the year. Along with GM, Mahindra & Mahindra is also likely to launch its luxurious SUV soon.
