As a result, the Kwid EV will not be coming to India after all

The sneak peak shows a glimpse of three different models that Ola electric will offer

Electric car sales in India have more than tripled in the last year, with Tata's models accounting for over 80 per cent of them

However, don’t expect them to replace the mainstream rickshaw fleet anytime soon as they are just three prototypes developed as part of a pilot project

Sadly, the short video does not actually show anything about the model, but hints at its smoothened silhouette

These will be based on new battery electric platforms with no ICE equivalents

The carmaker already confirmed that the upcoming EV will have a distinctive design and will be longer than the XUV300

It has a roomy cabin design thanks to large surface areas for the windows and gets a panoramic glass roof too

Both sub-4m electric models are priced north of Rs 12 lakh, ex-showroom

Both these new EVs offer sporty performance and over 500km of range at somewhat similar prices. But they’ve got more to them

All 100 units originally allocated for our market were booked even before prices were announced

It will be a dedicated EV model with no combustion-engine sibling

It will be offered here as a premium imported EV, with a range of over 500km just like the Kia EV6

Tata first took the second spot in monthly sales in December 2021 which has now recurred in May 2022

It is only available in the GT Line trim and offers a claimed range of up to 528km
