Isuzu Max Run Challenge flagged off
Isuzu Motors India today flagged off its three day Isuzu Max Run Challenge from Vijayawada to Mumbai. With an aim to showcase inter-city range fuel efficiency of its Isuzu D-Max (pick-up truck) in Indian road conditions, Mr. Toru Kishimoto, Vice President, Isuzu Motors India flagged off this drive from Vijayawada. The participating drivers in the drive includes a team of Isuzu dealer salesperson, D-Max customer and a commercial vehicle driver.
During the three day drive, these three vehicles will attempt to complete the drive in one full tank capacity each. Starting from Vijayawada, the vehicles will pass through Hyderabad, Solapur, and Pune before culminating the drive at Mumbai on 25th September. To validate the distance travelled and track the drive in real time, all three pick-ups have been equipped with GPS Telemetry System.
Flagging off the drive, Mr. Toru Kishimoto, Vice President, Isuzu Motors India, wished good luck to the driving team and said, “The Isuzu Max Run Challenge is Isuzu’s global initiative to test and prove Isuzu vehicle’s fuel efficiency, durability, reliability and range under real-world conditions. This challenge has been successfully completed in Australia, Philippines, Thailand, Middle East and Malaysia. With the same philosophy, we are undertaking the Isuzu Max Run Challenge in India to showcase that the Isuzu D-Max performs similarly on Indian road conditions as it performs globally”.
Isuzu D-Max comes equipped with a 2499cc, four-cylinder intercooled turbocharged diesel engine, that pumps out 134 bhp of max. power at 3600 rpm and 294 Nm of peak torque at 1800-3200 rpm range. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
