Honda to Launch Mobilio MPV Tomorrow
Honda will launch the Mobilio MPV tomorrow in Delhi. The booking of this seven seater family car is already started with an upfront payment of Rs 50,000, while the deliveries will commence after the launch. Honda Mobilio lock horns with market leader Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia. First showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, Mobilio is based on the Brio and Amaze platform.
Recently, Honda has also dropped some of the luxurious features such as Audio, Video and Navigation system (AVN), reverse parking camera, faux wood interior and leatherette seat covers. While the LED scuff plate and seat covers can be purchased as an accessory.
With the introduction of Honda Mobilio, the competition in the MPV segment will reach to a next level. The company has already made it clear in a statement that Honda Mobilio is made with extensive focus on space and features. With the fuel efficient 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine, the company looks to mark its name in the growing MPV segment. Till now, the segment is mostly ruled by the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga while Chevrolet Enjoy too fetches decent sales. Honda claims that the diesel engine which also does duty in fourth generation Honda City delivers a fuel efficiency of 24.2kmpl, which is highest in the segment. Moreover, the petrol model delivers a mileage of 17.3kmpl, which is again more than its nearest rivals.
For the comfort of its passenger, Honda has provided features such as roof mounted A/C vents for second and third row. The MPV also features sliding second row and reclining third row. Under the hood, the 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine develops maximum power of 98bhp and 200Nm of torque while the petrol model gets City's 1.5 liter i-VTEC which churns a power of 117bhp and 145Nm of torque.
