Honda Mobilio to be the next big thing after Amaze and City?

In India for 15 years, Honda City was known for its petrol engine, but then came the revolutionary i-DTEC engine which made its way through compact sedan Amaze and later followed in City. For the first time in December, the iconic City was launched with diesel engine and as expected, the booking sky-rocketed and reached to 23,000 units in first two months. The Japanese manufacturer started delivering 7000 units a month and even today, after three and a half months, the anticipation is still no less and the waiting period for the top end variants V and VX is around two to three months.

After tasting the sweet success from City and Amaze, the company started to look India as a major autosector and began manufacturing in second plant situated in Tapukara, Alwar district. Now the next venture for the automaker is the seven seater Multi Purpose Vehicle named as Mobilio. The MPV was showcased at the recently concluded Auto Expo and is expected to be launched around the festive months of October or November this year. The MPV will be placed against the market capturer Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Chevrolet Enjoy. Mobilio will be offered in both the fuel trims. The petrol model carries 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that churns a power of 117bhp while the diesel model houses 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine churning a max power of 98bhp.

With the arrival of Honda Mobilio, the competition in MPV segment will surely reach to its next level and seeing the recent trend of Honda being market leader in C segment, it is expected that the MPV segment will also be changed for good!
