Honda Mobilio reportedly arrives at dealerships
We at the CarDekho recently reported that Honda will launch its MPV Mobilio in the month of July and in accordance with that, the company has reportedly started shipping its MPV to different dealerships for dealer training. A source closed to a particular dealership has revealed that the MPV has already reached to the showrooms for training of its sales executives.
The MPV Mobilio was first showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo where it got an overwhelming response from both visitors and industry experts. This seven seater MPV is based on Brio platform and will be made available in both the fuel trims. Honda Mobilio MPV will be put against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Chevrolet Enjoy. The MPV segment in India corresponds to almost 12,000 units a month and to capture the better part of this growing segment, the Japanese manufacturer has concentrated more on MPV’s interior space, luxury and fuel economy.
The MPV is suitable for the large Indian joint families as it offers ample space for seven passengers along with the decent space left for small luggage. The seats are wide and comfortable and with an wheelbase of 2.60 meters, the MPV features sufficient legroom too. To cope with summer’s hot and humid weather, the MPV also offers middle row A/C vents for cooling the cabin efficiently.
Powering the MPV is the company’s powerful 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine develops a power of 117bhp and 145Nm of peak torque while the diesel engine churns a maximum power output of 98bhp and 200Nm of torque. The petrol engine comes with an option of five speed manual and CVT gearbox while the diesel engine is coupled to five speed manual transmission. The diesel engine is expected to deliver a fuel efficiency of 26kmpl-same as that of Honda City.
The company is already a leader in the C segment and with the arrival of Mobilio, it is expected that the manufacturer will give a run for money to its arch rival Ertiga and Enjoy. The booking of MPV Mobilio is expected to commence by the end of this month, but don’t worry folks, CarDekho will report as soon as the company begins to take advance amounts to book the Mobilio.
