The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued fresh guidelines to help facilitate the process of Unlock 3.0. This is basically the third step towards opening up establishments and lifting travel restrictions across the country that were put into place in the lockdown phase due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Here’s all you need to know before making those travel plans:

  • Firstly, the night curfew has been removed. Individuals can now also travel freely between 10pm and 5am. However, states and UTs, based on their assessment of the situation, may prohibit certain activities outside containment zones.

  • Those of you looking to catch flights to international destinations can now do so. However, only a limited number of flight options under Vande Bharat mission will be available for the foreseeable future.

The above said relaxations will be implemented in those regions which fall outside the purview of containment zones. Apart from that, services opened up under Unlock 2.0 will continue to run. They include:

  • Domestic flights and trains shall continue to run in a limited capacity.

  • No e-permits are required for travelling inside the state, or going from one state to another. However, state governments are allowed to place restrictions on this rule if they deem it necessary to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The above mentioned relaxations are not applicable to containment zones. These regions will continue to maintain a lockdown with travelling is only permitted for essential services until 31 August, 2020.
