Peugeot launching low-cost car in India by 2011

In India,Every car company is going to make its presence in low cost car market by lauching small cars segment.PSA Peugeot Citroën (previously Peugeot Société Anonyme),a French automobile and motorcycle manufacturer,is also planning to launch its new low-cost car in Indian car market by 2011.The cars will be manufactured in Turkey as well as Poland.The car will also make its debut in other countries such as China,Eastern Europe, Central Europe, Russia, Africa, Turkey and South America.The 5-seater car is expected to have more space for luggage and stowage then any other car in this segment.

PSA Peugeot Citroen had earlier stated that they are currently looking into the possibilities of re-entering into the Indian automobile market. The company wants to offer its range of small cars and mid-segment sedans in the country. It is also gearing up towards establishing a component sourcing base in India, for its global operations. The French company has set up a dedicated office in India, through which it aims to conduct all its sourcing activity in the country.

In india,small and low-cost car market is growing day-by-day.Small car sales in India amount to nearly two-third of the total car sales in the country.Every car manufacturer like like General Motors, Renault-Nissan, Ford, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Hyundai et al are with launching new low cost cars as well as mid-size sedans.Maruti suzuki,leading car maker in india,has already made its presence in Indian car market by capturing fifty percent market share in this segment.Hyundai Motors India Limited,second largest car maker in India,has recently introduced its most popular model Hyundai i10 and plans to introduce its new model, Hyundai i20, early next year.
