Next-generation Skoda Superb Promotions Strong Regardless of Auto Expo Absence

Czech automaker Skoda is featuring the all new Superb sedan on its India-dedicated official website. The luxury sedan will be arriving in the Indian market soon. What was peculiar is that this India-bound offering from Skoda was absent from the recently-culminated 2016 Indian Auto Expo, which deprived customers of the opportunity to see the car in flesh. To compensate the automaker has also embedded a video, which gives a detailed glimpse into what the car would look and drive like.
Under the hood, the all-new Superb is expected to feature a 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel mill. These powerplants will help the luxury sedan take on the likes of Toyota Camry, Mercedes-Benz CLA and the upcoming compact sedan from BMW. It is also expected that these units will come coupled to a standard manual gearbox with an option for a DSG transmission. As far as drive types are concerned, the upcoming sedan might feature a FWD drive type, but there is also a possibility that Skoda might also offer the car in an AWD configuration. The Czech automaker has been spotted testing the next-generation Skoda on multiple occasions and the prototypes were captured completely undisguised, so one can still get a fair idea about what the upcoming luxury sedan be like, regardless of the cryptic teaser image, which only confirms that the car will be reminiscent to the company's Vision concept.
One can also spot the updates that make their way into the cabin, which feature creature comforts that include the likes of Volkswagen’s MirrorLink system, three zone climate control, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. A sliding and tilting panoramic sunroof, power adjustable front seats, rain and light sensors, parking camera, 6.5" touchscreen infotainment display and park assist are also expected to make their way inside the car.
