    Luxury car makers enjoy high demand momentum in India

    The demand for luxury cars in the Indian market has been shooting upwards since last few months and the car makers that are among the most benefited through this high demand momentum include Mercedes Benz, Audi and BMW. All of these car makers are registering a considerably high growth in the sales of their cars over the past few months. Mercedes Benz, the top luxury car maker in the Indian market, has been one of the biggest contributor in the sales of the luxury cars in the country. The company has been launching a series of new cars in the country since the starting of this year.

    The demand for luxury cars in the Indian market has been shooting upwards since last few months and the car makers that are among the most benefited through this high demand momentum include Mercedes Benz, Audi and BMW. All of these car makers are registering a considerably high growth in the sales of their cars over the past few months.

    Mercedes Benz, the top luxury car maker in the Indian market, has been one of the biggest contributor in the sales of the luxury cars in the country. The company has been launching a series of new cars in the country since the starting of this year. Mr Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO said in a recent statement that exciting products and exciting ways to showcase such products has been their constant endeavor. Company's initiatives in 2010 have been targeted at customers from large as well as medium and small cities, he added.

    The second largest car maker BMW is also working hard to regain the numero uno position in the Indian market. Following its arch rival Mercedes, BMW India is mulling to launch more than a dozen new car models in the Indian market in next 4 to 5 years. The company is also planning to enhance its dealership network in the Indian market so that it can reach more and more customers in the country.

    The Germany based Audi is also eying to make the most of the ongoing high growth momentum. The company is targeting to capture more than 30 percent share of the luxury car segment by next year. Mr Micheal Perschke, Audi India head, said in a statement that the company is looking at increasing its market share as well as focusing on profitability. India is a strategic market for the company and it is planning to come up with new showrooms in cities like Surat, Ludhiana, Indore, Coimbatore and Lucknow, he added.
