Jaguar considers entry-level model,says Tata
Jaguar is planning to reveal few models soon. These models will include a station wagon and also a roadster. The reason behind it, is the strong economic rebound that has been noticed globally and the same has given rise to demand.
Jaguar, the luxury-car brand owned by Tata Motors, an Indian truckmaker, is also considering to launch an entry-level model, said Ratan Tata, Chairman Tata Group, in the company's annual report for the year ended in March 2010. However the Chairman did not elaborate much.
Jaguar Land Rover was bought by Tata in 2008 from Ford motor company. Tata said that the operations of Jaguar Land Rover have been quite profitable over the last two quarters after the UK-based luxury unit cut down the costs. Carl-Peter Forster is planning to expand the company’s network in China by beginning manufacturing in China. This will help in expanding the sales of Jaguar in the emerging markets. Forster was appointed as Tata's Chief Executive Officer in February.
