Facelifted Volkswagen Touareg Spied
Last year, Volkswagen India had silently launched the new version of the flagship sports utility vehicle Touareg in the Indian car market at Rs. 58.5 lakh (ex-showroom, New-Delhi). Recently, the company has announced that it will launch more facelifts or variants of the existent vehicles in India, and we already saw new Polo GT TSI, and will soon see a Polo GT TDI. Now WorldCarFans has managed to click the minor facelift version of the Volkswagen Touareg during its test mule. This has bring a strong intuition that it might also come to India, under VW India's expansion strategy.
The facelifted Touareg spotted has a camouflaged front fascia and rear as well, however it indicates a revamped bumpers, a modified grille and updated lighting units. However, the interior images of the SUV are not available, it seems like the cabin of the facelifted vehicles will get new ingredients as well. It is expected that the car will feature an upgraded infotainment system and a variety of new driver assistance technology.
Under the hood, the vehicle comes loaded with a 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine coupled to a 8-speed automatic transmission, which develops 241.6bhp and 550Nm of torque. The ARAI certified mileage that Touareg returns is 12.08kmpl. It is also speculated that the revamped Touareg will get a new four-cylinder engine for improved fuel efficiency.
