2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport / Challenger Finally Unveiled
After teasing the customers and making them wait for a long time, Mitsubishi has finally unveiled the Next-Gen Pajero Sport / Challenger. The mid-size SUV follows the company's new "Dynamic Shield" front which was featured on the Outlander Sport. The front features slender headlights with a thin strip of LED lights running all the way to the center chrome. The fog lamps are located all the way down in the bumper. The chrome strips on the front seems to rap all the lights together making them look like a neat set.
Looking from the side, the car seems to be stretched from front to the rear top corner. It doesn't look particularly attractive from the side with the huge gap between the rear wheel and wheel arch. The aggressive body lines runs along the side of the Pajero including the one connecting the headlight with the tail light giving the car a strong character. The rear looks good with an all new tail light cluster running all the way down to the bumper. The bumper also carries body lines aligned with the tail lights in order to complete the streamlined look.
On the inside, the Pajero looks neat and comfortable. Equipped with leather seats, silver trim and a big center display for the information system above the glossy black instrument cluster, the cabin feels premium. Pajero also comes with electric parking brake for the first time. Under the hood is a 2.4-liter MIVEC turbo diesel with a 8-speed automatic gearbox which is tailor-made for this car.
The car will be on sale by fall this year in Thailand. Shortly after that, the SUV will be sold in more than 90 countries including the ASEAN countries, Australia, Middle East, Latin America, Africa and Russia. For the Indian market, we can expect the updated Pajero in mid 2016.
