Hyundai showcased the Carlino concept (codenamed: HND-14) to the world for the first time at the 2016 Auto Expo. The concept SUV previews the South Korean car manufacturer’s upcoming sub-4 metre SUV, which is set to be launched in the Indian market in the first half of 2019. Recently, a mysterious test mule of a Hyundai SUV, which is said to be the Carlino, was spotted in the US. If it is, in fact, the production-spec model, then it looks completely different to the Carlino concept. The production-spec version of the Carlino is expected to be offered with a turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engine and the 1.4-litre diesel engine that powers the Elite i20. It is expected to be priced between Rs 7-12 lakh and will compete against the Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and the Honda WR-V, among others.
