The ZS EV boasts features that set it apart from the fossil fueled cars of today and takes a step closer to an emissions-free future

We’ve all thought about what the future holds in store for us when it comes to EVs. Will it be loaded with technology? Will it have the performance to match a normal petrol or diesel engine? How different will the drive feel? And the biggest concern of them all: range anxiety.

The answer to these questions comes in the form of India’s first pure-electric internet SUV, the MG ZS EV. The future is here, and it brings so much green credentials to the table. The ZS EV is not just an exciting prospect of a greener tomorrow, it also seamlessly accommodates the needs of everyday driving into a sleek package. Initially launched in January in only Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, the SUV saw an increase in demand. With the expansion of infrastructure, six more cities have been added since 1st June: Pune, Surat, Jaipur, Cochin, Chandigarh, and Chennai.

Powered by a 44.5kWh battery, it offers a claimed range of 340km. With an output of 142.7PS and 353Nm, the numbers indicate that you get the same performance as an internal combustion engine but in a cleaner and greener way. Range anxiety, however, is what affects most potential customers, and MG has a number of solutions so the ZS EV never runs out of charge.

An AC charger can be installed at your home or office for no extra cost, and provides 80% charge in 6-8 hours. A portable charger is also available, which can be plugged into any 15A socket and can charge up to 80% in 16-18 hours. This can be helpful when you take the car out of town over the weekend.

Apart from a futuristic powertrain the ZS EV assures safety with a number of features including first-in-class rear seatbelt reminders. The car comes equipped with six airbags, reverse parking camera, ABS with ABD, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Inside the cabin, the SUV gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology, a PM 2.5 filter, a dual-pane panoramic sky roof, cruise control, and three driving modes: Sport, Normal, and Eco.

MG has focused on providing the right infrastructure for comfortable driving, making the process of charging the ZS EV almost as effortless as filling fuel in your car. MG dealerships provide charging solutions at points throughout key routes in selected cities along with 24x7 DC chargers which can charge 80% in 50 minutes. That means all you have to do is visit the nearest MG dealership, grab a cup of coffee at the showroom and be back on the road in no time.

The MG ZS EV is a step towards a greener future. With zero emissions and a running cost of just around Rs 1 per km, the ZS EV doesn’t just help the planet; it is also lighter on your pockets as well. Available in 11 cities across India, you can book the ZS EV on MG’s website in just a few clicks.
