Pros and Cons

  • Pros
  • Cons

    Hyundai Grand i10

    • New smartphone-compatible infotainment system (at least on the top-end Asta) works brilliantly
    • Spacious passenger and luggage space; convenience features very well thought out
    • Cabin feels upmarket; overall quality is top notch

    Hyundai Santro

    • Quality: The Hyundai Santro sets a new benchmark in terms of the quality of materials used inside the cabin
    • On-road manners: The Santro comes across as a very mature package when it comes to ride and handling. It feels planted at high speeds, where the steering also weighs up to make you feel confident. At parking and city speeds, the steering is light and the ride is comfortable
    • Spacious: The Hyundai Santro is based on the Grand i10’s platform, giving it a wheelbase of 2400mm, which is 20mm more than the Eon. At 1645mm, the Hyundai Santro is wider than the Celerio. Its cabin is roomy, with enough space to seat two six-footers one behind the other in comfort. Front and rear headroom isn’t lacking either.

    Hyundai Grand i10

    • Integrated headrests for the front seats reduce usability

    Hyundai Santro

    • Seats: Fixed headrests for front and rear seats
    • No dual airbags as standard: The Hyundai Santro only gets a driver-side airbag as standard. Dual airbags are offered only on the Asta variant.
    • Lacks vital features: Alloy wheels, electrically foldable ORVMs, tilt-adjustable steering wheel and automatic climate control not on offer on any variants. Hyundai could have at least offered these in the top-spec Asta variant.
