Ignis 1.3 AMT Delta Review

The automatic or AMT version of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis' 1.3-litre diesel engine is available in two trim levels - Delta and Zeta - which are the two mid variants, out of the four, of the crossover-like hatchback. The Maruti Suzuki Ignis 1.3 DDiS Delta diesel AMT is priced at Rs 6.94 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi, as of April 10, 2017).

In terms of features, the Ignis 1.2 Delta AMT offers a double-din audio system with Bluetooth phone integration and audio playback along with Aux-in, USB input and CD playback. This unit is coupled to a two-speaker sound system. It also gets a tachometer, electrically-adjustable outside rearview mirrors and front and rear power windows. The Ignis' dual-tone dashboard theme (black and white) is also available from the Delta trim onwards. It features a new multifunction, tilt-adjustable steering wheel, which is unique to the Ignis in the automaker's lineup. The rear seat in the Delta trim splits in a 60:40 ratio and comes with adjustable headrests.

The Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre DDiS motor in the Ignis' diesel automatic version is one of the most common engines in Maruti's lineup, like its 1.2-litre K-series petrol engine. The 1,248cc, four-cylinder diesel puts out 75PS of max power and 190Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission) in the Maruti Suzuki Ignis 1.3 DDiS Delta automatic. The ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of the Maruti Ignis diesel Delta AMT automatic is 26.80kmpl, which is identical to its 5-speed manual counterpart.

The Ignis diesel automatic has no direct rival as such because none of its rivals offer a diesel automatic option.
