New Premier Rio Launched in China; Coming to India?
India bound, Premier Rio facelift (Known as Zotye 5008) has been launched in China recently. The newly launched compact SUV comes with changes both inside and out. However, the company didn't change the engine of the car and will continue to house the same drive-train options. Meanwhile, the company will continue to sell the current model alongside the new facelifted version. It is also expected that the same facelift version will also be launched in the Indian market as well.
The new Rio gets a completely new front with redesigned headlamps, a more aggressive triple-slat grille and a modern looking bumper fitted with a new set of fog-lamps. The rear didn't go through much changes, but it features redesigned taillights with integrated reverse lamps and a slightly upgraded bumper. Called as T200, the Rio facelift now comes with a better quality interiors. The cabin has now received a revised dashboard, and the plastic quality is improved a lot. The upgraded cabin now looks much modern and now features a dual-tone interiors. The newly formulated centre console with redesigned AC vents and functional controls making it bit more appealing.
It is to be notice that Premier sourced most of its car ingredients from Zotye to make the Rio SUV, this clearly indicating that it would not be a big problem for the Indian auto-major to launch this facelifted version to the Indian automotive market.
