    Mahindra Reva to Launch 4-5 Electric Cars in Next 2-3 Years

    Mahindra Reva that has recently launched India's first four-seater electric car e2o on March 18, is now planning to bring in four to five variants of electric vehicles over the next two-three years. And out of these planned vehicles, there will also be a four-door model.

    Mahindra e2o

    Speaking about the same, Mahindra Reva's chief of operations, R Chandramouli said, "Over the next two-three years, we are planning to have at least four to five new launches," Company's first electric vehicle REVAi could only manage to sell 4750 units since its launch in 2001, and the company believes that the "Sales of the e2o will be significantly higher, in multiples."

    The Mahindra e2o is archetype of Mahindra Group's vision of the 'Future of Mobility' for a sustainable tomorrow. The vehicle was unveiled at the Indian auto expo as Reva NXR in January 2012. The car has come out in six exciting colours- arctic silver, coral blue, eco green, ocean white, Spanish red and sunfire yellow.

    Priced at Rs 5.96 lakh (on-road, Delhi), the e2o is the first product to have been assembled at the company's newly launched facility based out of Banglore. Built on the futuristic ecoystem of Sun2Car, the e2o derives its power from a 48-volt, 29kw electric motor, churns out the maximum power output of 39.4bhp and 53Nm of peak torque, promising to offer the running cost around 40-50 paise/km, while protecting and preserving the environment. The car impresses with its top-speed as well, it's 81kmph, which proves the e2o to be a good car for city driving.
