Apple planning to make Electric Vehicles by 2020
Apple Inc. of USA is best known for making state-of-art gadgetry starting from the iconic iPod, MacBook, iPad and the hottest iPhone. We are all familiar with the role these gizmos have played in modernization of current world and Apple, undoubtedly has scaled immense heights in terms of profits. So if a manufacturer who has an image of making revolutionary products is heard of developing electric cars, excitement of enthusiasts is sure to pump up. It is believed that Apple is planning to bring this car by 2020.

Project Titan
According to a prominent American publication, apart from Apple’s Cupertino based in California, several hundred people are working somewhere near in seclusion for an automotive development project, code named 'Titan'. Though, Apple is pretty famed for researching on a host of new projects out of which only a few make it to the real world. But, for this electric car the device manufacturer could be serious looking into the fact that Google is also heard and found testing it’s self driving car.
To give strength to this concept Apple have staffed the Titan faculty with a senior leader that clearly indicates the seriousness of this project. Apparently, veteran design VP - Steve Zadesky, a key member in the development of the iPad and iPhone is heading this one. Moreover, Apple is gathering, precisely poaching, top talents from both the automotive and electronic industries from across the globe.
On the other hand, looking into the fact that having launched its CarPlay in-car software early last year, this concept of an electric car makes sense as it will serve as a hardware to this above mentioned system given Apple’s infamous “walled garden” philosophy of hardware-software integration.
Now, Apple is largely famous and most importantly successful with its line of iDevices but the ambiguity of auto sector is different from this manufacturer’s current field of expertise. Nonetheless, it also have an image of doing improbable things and with deep pockets than many major automobile manufacturers it has got proper ingredients as well.
This reminds me of the early Apple's Think Different commercial punch line “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do”. I mean who would have imagined that a couple of hippies with a nut like Steve Jobs would form a company that grew to such epic proportions. It is quite possible that in the coming years we will be seeing another gadget in Apple lineup. The iCar.
