i10 Sportz 1.2 Kappa2 Review

India's second largest auto manufacturer Hyundai Motors launched i10 after looking at the huge success of Hyundai Santro in the Indian car market. This car manufacturer markets eight passenger car models across segments - Eon, Santro, i10, i20, Accent, Verna, Sonata and Santa Fe in India. The i10 is the premium hatchback from Hyundai which has been placed between Hyundai Santro and the phased out Hyundai Getz to capture the remaining market. The styling features of the i10 Sports are stunning with the 1.2L Kappa2 engine that makes it a high class premium car. The Hyundai i10 Sportz comes with i-Relax front seats, i-shift gear console, front and rear power windows with child lock, AC with heater, 4 speed blowers, electrically adjustable ORVMs, AUX with USB port and many more features. Hyundai i10 has tachometer, electronic trip meter, electronic odometer, low fuel warning lamp, turn indicators on the outside rear view mirrors, digital clock etc, as standard features added to it.

The aggressive and sporty look of the i10 comes from the front look of the car which has round headlamps, wider air intake, central radiator grille with a single horizontal chrome slat with centrally positioned Hyundai logo and has a stylish bumper. The side roof antenna gives the car a very sporty look. Cabin of the car has two-tone dashboard, silver casing for audio, a digital fuel meter and an up shift-down shift indicator adding to its looks that extra bit. Seat belts, auto-unlocking doors which automatically unlock on sensing an impact and a high-mounted rear stop lamp are some of the high end safety measures incorporated in the i10. 1.2L Kappa2 engine complies with BSIV norms and also provides an impressive fuel mileage. The Hyundai i10 Sportz comes in champagne gold, deep ocean blue, sleek silver, virtual yellow, blushing red, alpine blue, oyster grey and electric red color.

Exteriors

The clear headlamps stretched towards the rear of the front, gives the Hyundai i10 Sportz a flamboyant look. The chrome front grille adds a finishing touch to the appearance of the car. Although the car does not have an appealing rear end but the overall look of the car is quite new and fresh in the premium hatchback segment. The black plastic moulding has been used in the front, on the sides and at the rear making it look like a delightful exhibition for the eyes. Front headlights, centre radiator grille with horizontal chrome slat, bumper and triangular front fog lamps are new additions in the i10 Sportz. The decreased wheel size of the car might be useful in cost cutting but it is too small in comparison to the total size of the vehicle. The side roof antenna gives the car a look of a new machine altogether . The waste line is black in color to make it more prominent in the car. The i10 Sportz comes with full wheel covers. The exterior dimensions of the i10 are: length- 3,565mm, width- 1,595mm and height- 1,550mm. The car has a wheelbase of 2,380mm along with a ground clearance of 165mm. The minimum turning radius of the Hyundai i10 Sportz is of 4.75 meters.

Dual tone dash board of the car comes with , low fuel warning lamp, electronic petrol fuel indicator and gearshift indicator placed on it nicely. Foldable rear seats help to increase the luggage space of the car. Vanity mirror, front room lamp, cup holders, front door map pocket and deluxe floor console with power outlet are some of the additional interior features which have been added in the car. Although, the boot size of the car is good but the loading-lip of the boot can be a problem while unloading the baggage. In comparison to the other hatchback cars, the rear seat of the car has better leg room. Hyundai i10 offers generous headroom of 990mm (Front) and 940mm (Rear) with the front legroom of 1190mm (max.) and 1115mm (min) with the rear knee room of 819mm (max.) and 640mm (min.) and with the shoulder room of 1225mm.
