i10 Magna 1.2 Kappa2 Review
India’s second largest auto manufacturer Hyundai Motors has launched Hyundai i10 after the huge success of Hyundai Santro. It currently markets eight passenger car models across segments - Eon, Santro, i10, i20, Accent, Verna, Sonata and Santa Fe. The i10 is the premium hatchback from Hyundai which has been placed between Hyundai Santro and the phased out Hyundai Getz. The i10 has a superb styling feature with some standard feature which makes it a high class premium car. The Hyundai i10 has a list of comfort features. The car comes with i-Relax front seats, front and rear power windows with child lock, AC with heater, 4 speed blowers, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and many more features. Hyundai i10 has tachometer, electronic trip meter, electronic odometer, low fuel warning lamp, turn indicators on the outside rear view mirrors, digital clock etc, as standard features incorporated in it.
Hyundai i10 Magna 1.2L comes with aggressive and sporty look. The front fascia has round headlamps, wider air intake, central radiator grille with a single horizontal chrome slat with centrally positioned Hyundai logo and has a stylish bumper. Side roof of the car has a small antenna giving it a very sporty look. The interior of the i10 Magna has a mounted audio and Bluetooth controls on the steering wheels. Other features of the interior are USB port and AUX connection, two-tone dashboard, silver casing for audio, a digital fuel meter and an up shift-down shift indicator, etc. The Hyundai i10 is equipped with top-end safety features like seat belts with pretensioner, auto-unlocking doors which automatically unlock on sensing an impact and a high-mounted rear stop lamp. The BSIV compliant 1.2L iRDE2 engine has a spectacular fuel mileage. The Hyundai i10 Magna 1.2L comes in champagne gold, deep ocean blue, sleek silver, virtual yellow, blushing red, alpine blue, oyster grey and electric red color.
Exteriors
Hyundai i10 Magna 1.2L has nice clear headlamps which stretch towards the rear of the front end which give it the best look. The front grille is in chrome which adds a finishing touch to the appearance of the vehicle. But the rear end of the car is not as appealing as the front look. The tempting facades just fall short to get goes together by with the rear. The use of black plastic moulding in the front, on the sides and at the rear makes it look like a pleasurable spectacle for the eyes. The wheel size of the car is too small in comparison to its large size of the vehicle. The look of the car is fresh and appealing in the premium hatchback segment. The new front headlights, new centre radiator grille with horizontal chrome slat, new bumper and triangular front fog lamps have been added to the i10 Magna 1.2L. A compact antenna does make the car look like a new machine altogether. The waistline of the variant is in black color. The i10 Magna 1.2L comes with full wheel covers. The exterior dimensions of the i10 are: length- 3,565mm, width- 1,595mm and height- 1,550mm. The car has a wheelbase of 2,380mm along with a ground clearance of 165mm. The minimum turning radius of the Hyundai i10 magna 1.2L is of 4.75 meters.
Interiors
Hyundai i10 Magna 1.2L has a spacious interior with enhanced features. The two-tone interior gives it a look of a premium class car with superior automotive divisions and knobs that have a meticulous effect on the interior of the car. One thing that stands out as a single characteristic is the placement of the gear-shift lever housed on the centre console of the cabin. The dual tone dashboard has tachometer, low fuel warning lamp, electronic petrol fuel indicator and gearshift indicator. The i10 Magna has folding rear seats to increase the luggage space of the car. The car has additional interior features like vanity mirror, front room lamp, cup holders, front door map pocket and deluxe floor console with power outlet. There is enough space to carry things right from your wallet or cell phone to bottles in the car. Although the luggage space is too good but the deep loading-lip can be a cause of distress while unloading the baggage from the vehicle. The rear seat of the car has better leg room in comparison to other hatchback cars. Hyundai i10 offers generous headroom of 990mm (Front) and 940mm (Rear) with the front legroom of 1190mm (max.) and 1115mm (min) with the rear knee room of 819mm (max.) and 640mm (min.) and with the shoulder room of 1225mm. the boot space of the car is of 225 litres.
Engine & Performance
The Hyundai i10 Magna 1.2L has an in-line petrol engine of 1.2 litre 79bhp iRDE2 (Intelligent Responsive Drive Engine) which is capable to churn out 79bhp of output at 5500rpm and give a maximum torque of 111Nm at 4500rpm. The 1.1 litre 1184cc engine has four cylinders along with three valves per cylinder. The iRDE2 petrol engine is matted to five sped manual transmission with SOHC valve configuration and comes with front wheel drive option. The Hyundai i10 Magna 1.2L can attain a top speed of 149kmph with the 1.2 litre 79bhp iRDE2 petrol engine. The acceleration of the car from 0 to 100kmph is in 15.5 seconds which is fair enough with the engine being used by the car. The Hyundai i10 Magna 1.2L gives a mileage of 15.4kmpl when it is being used in city. At the same time, on the highways, the car gives a 19.2kmpl of mileage. The fuel used in the Hyundai i10 Magna 1.2L is petrol and the car complies with Bharat Stage IV emission norms of the country. The fuel tank capacity of Hyundai i10 Magna 1.2L is of 35L.
