World Cup Cricket record makers

Loosing and winning is a part of any mega tournament and if it is the Cricket World Cup the stakes are even higher. But apart form the winning and loosing each world cup gives the players an opportunity to break the old records and set new ones.

Be it the highest score or the highest ducks every new record goes down in history. Like the record for the highest score ever is held by India set vs Bermuda in 2007( 413-5) followed by Sri Lanka’s 398-5 vs Kenya in 1996.

Whereas the record of the lowest score in a world cup match is held by Canada vs Sri Lanka in 2003 when it made 36 runs followed by Namibia vs Australia in 2003 at 45runs.

The record for the highest successful run chase is held by Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe in 1992 when Sri Lanka managed to chase 313-7. The second position for this goes to England who managed to chase 301-9 Vs West Indies in 2007.

The highest winning margin is held by India for its victory over Bermuda in 2007 by 257 runs followed by Australia vs Namibia in 2003 when they won by 256 runs. While both the lowest winning margins were in India Vs Australia matches – first being in 1987 by 1run and then in 1992 again by 1 run.

The highest win percentage lies untouchably with Australia at 74.63% followed by South Africa at 65.00%. And the most amount of wins are registered in the name of Australia with 51 wins followed by England with 36. On the other hand most losses are in the name of Zimbabwe with 33 losses followed by Sri Lanka at 30.
