Motormind Hyperion 1

Sticking true to our #first2expo tag, we here at CarDekho were the first ones to bring to you the exclusive coverage of Bangalore-based industrial design studio and prototyping company, Motormind’s Hyperion 1 concept, live as it was showcased at the ongoing 2016 Indian Auto Expo. This masterpiece of 'Made in India' ingenuity remained unnoticed by many for a substantial amount of time and they clearly missed out.

Motormind Hyperion 1

If there ever was an Indian iteration of a cross between the globally coveted Ariel Atom and KTM X-Bow sportscar, then it would be this offering by Motormind. The company claims that the car’s design derives inspiration from F1 cars and justifiably so, as this has to be one of the finest attempts at a track-focused supercar built by an Indian automaker. The split spoilers, rear diffusers, extensive use of carbon fiber- all of it exudes performance focus, but with an added flair, courtesy of of LEDs, a really striking colour scheme and other styling accents that make this car stand out  and claim your attention. The attention to detail is so intricate that even the steering wheel of the car has been 3-D printed from precise CAD data.

Powering this immaculately designed contraption is Hyundai Sonata-derived 2.7-liter V6, which was originally offered with a power output of 166PS and 226Nm of peak torque, but it must come as no surprise that the powerplant has been tweaked to deliver enhanced performance figures in this track-focused concept by Motormind and considering its lightweight construction, this unit bestows Hyperion 1 with an impressive power to weight ratio. Hyperion 1 took three years of Research and Development and it will be a while until this car is unleashed upon Indian streets and to curb your enthusiasm till then, have a look at its amazing image gallery.
