Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe unveiled

Mercedes-Benz, the Munich-based automajor, has officially pulled the curtains off its S-Class coupe. The company unveiled the elegant coupe recently and it is also scheduled to make its first public appearance at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, next month. It will be filling in the shoes of company's ongoing CL-Class.

The company has based the architecture of this two seater sports vehicle on the Concept S-Class Coupe, without altering it. As far as exterior dimensions are concerned, it measures 5,027mm, 1,899mm, and 1,411mm in length, breadth and height, respectively. Additionally, it comes with a decent wheelbase of 2,945mm. When it comes to safety and security, Mercedes-Benz hasn't left single stone unturned to make it more up-market and plush than ever by including features PRE-SAFE brake with pedestrian detection, DISTRONIC PLUS with Steer Assist and Stop Go Pilot, BAS PLUS with junction assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive High-beam Assist Plus, Night View Assist Plus and Collision Prevention Assist PLUS.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class coupe would features MAGIC BODY CONTROL, the first "suspension with eyes" which facilitates the vehicle to bend like the super bikes. Basically, it is a curve tilting functionality that made its debut with the S-Class; but it might not see the daylight in India due to the barring of private radar usage. Additionally, full-LED lamps are also available with 47 Swarovski crystals in which 17 angular crystals create the flare-shaped daytime running lamps; while remaining 30 round-shaped crystals made up the turn indicator lamps. Also, as an optional package AIR-BALANCE package including "fragrancing" and "ionisation" with the electric armrest heating as a component of the Warmth Comfort package is also on offer.

During its launch, The extravagant coupe would only be available with the S500 variant. Under the hood, it would be sporting a 4.6-litre, V8, bi-turbo powertrain which would be responsible to belt out a whopping power output of 455bhp and a peak torque performance of 700Nm. The sporty motoring experience would further be significantly enhanced by the emotional sound produced by the exhaust system. It features two flaps that can be opened and closed pneumatically depending on the engine speed by the driver, according to his/her convenience.
