All-new Suzuki SX4 S-Cross engine specs revealed

Suzuki has revealed the engine specifications of the all-new SX4 S-Cross ahead of its launch scheduled later this year. The vehicle was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, and bagged applauds from both visitors and critics.

The second-generation Suzuki SX4 S-Cross will be launched in the European market with the choice of two 1.6-litre four-cylinder engines. The entry level naturally aspirated gasoline motor develops 118bhp @ 6000rpm and 156Nm of top torque @ 4400rpm. The engine will be mated to a five-speed manual or an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT), transmits power to either front or four-wheel-drive. The CO2 emission of the car ranges from 125-136 grams per kilometre, giving a combined fuel economy of 18.87-17.54km per litre.

The 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel engine is capable of developing 118bhp @ 4000rpm and 320Nm of top torque @ 1750rpm. The engine will be coupled to a six-speed manual transmission, which transmits power to either front or all four-wheels, with average CO2 emission of 110-115g/km and fuel efficiency of 24.3-23.6km per litre. The new SX4 S-Cross is 4300mm long, 1765mm wide and 1575mm tall, which is approximately 150mm longer, 10mm wider and 30mm lower than the outgoing model.

It is also expected that the sedan version of the SX4 S-Cross will come to India by next year. While the increase in demand for compact SUVs and crossovers is also increasing in our country, so we can expect that the Japanese automaker might also bring the SX4 S-Cross here in India.
