Citroen, a subsidiary of Stellantis group that also has brands like Jeep and Maserati in India, began its India voyage in 2021 with the C5 Aircross, a five-seater midsize SUV. The C5 was introduced as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) offering in India and is assembled at Citroen's Thiruvallur factory in Tamil Nadu. The C5 Aircross underwent a makeover in September 2022 with significant improvements inside and out. Because the C5 was a premium product and the French automaker sought to go into the mainstream market, it debuted the C3 hatchback in mid 2022 to crack the sub-10 lakh price bracket. The C3 hatchback is a highly localised vehicle with close to 95 percent of locally sourced parts. The carmaker's La Maison Citroen dealership network has been growing since the C5’s debut. The next in line for Citroen in India is the electric version of the C3 hatchback.
