Renault, the French auto-giant, has garnered immense appreciation from the auto-enthusiasts all across the globe because of its utilization and innovation of automobile technology in the exquisite class of vehicles it manufactures. Both these auto-makers collaborated on the development of a very versatile 5-seater vehicle which was later termed as the Renault Dacia Dokker. Dacia Motors developed it at the Renault factory located in Tangier, Morocco After constant speculations, It was unveiled at the Casablanca Motor Show in 2012, and went on sale for the first time in Morroco in June 2012. The name Dokker had a great relevance as its highly capable of carrying tonnes of load without getting any kind of stiffness. Renault introduced in Panel Van and passenger variants, thus indulging it in the highly convenient and versatile array of vehicles. The passenger variant has the seating capacity of 5 people and despite that it can swallow a luggage of around 800 litres. It is just beyond exception, and furthermore to the delight of an individual it comes with a sliding door. The number of sliding doors can be exceeded by two and they can be installed on the both sides, based on the customer preference and desire.
It is presented with four engine options: 1.2 TCe 115 and 1.6 MPI 85 petrol engines and the 75 bhp and 90 bhp 1.5 dCi diesel engines. Both the diesel engines are of Renault's K9K Series, 1461cc, 8V, SOHC based diesel engines and they are capable of putting up a exceptional show of power and performance. Both these robust engines generate 75 bhp at 4000 rpm and 90 bhp at 3750 rpm, respectively followed by a maximum torque of 180Nm at 1750 rpm and 200Nm at 1750 rpm. Both these K9K diesel engines have the capacity to touch the 0-100 kmph mark by 10 seconds and can attain a top speed of 170 kmph. Both these distinguished engines come coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission gear box. Now, if we turn our attention towards the petrol engines, then it can be propounded that they are almost equivalent to the diesel ones in terms of power and performance, no less in any means. The 1.2-litre, 16V, 1198cc, DOHC enabled, turbo TCi petrol engine has the capability to churn out a maximum power of 115 bhp at 4500 rpm and a peak torque of 190Nm at 2000 rpm. The other petrol engine which is a 1.6-litre MPI, is also equally refined and solid performer. It burns out a maximum power of 85 bhp at 5000 rpm and torque of 134Nm at 2800 rpm. Again, both the engines combined with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. Going by the engine performance and dimensions, the exquisite comfort and entertainment features serve as icing on the cake. Highly plush and spacious interiors add grace to the Dokker and provides an individual the much deserved space and plushness that he/she owes. It comes equipped with a media nav system which comprises of both, audio units and navigation. There are also several jack sockets including an auxillary USB and Bluetooth hands-free connectivity. Premium features such as cruise control and rear parking sensors fulfill the luxury feature quotient adequately.
Renault have incorporated sufficient safety and security features in the Dokker. It has the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) along with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) which helps immensely while braking on the slippery surfaces. Electronic Stability control (ESC) emerges out as a bonus feature for the buyers. In passive safety features, Dual front airbags are installed so that collision can be tackled with much panicking. Additionally, the inclusion of side curtain airbags and knee airbags is instrumental in the safety features. Hence, the Renault Dacia Dokker proves to be complete vehicle in all sections, be it the engine performance, be it the safety and luxury features or be it the interior space. The margin for error is quite thin and that's what transforms it as one of the best multi purpose vehicle. Since, there are not much vehicles as versatile it is, hence there are fair chances of it performing well and take forward Renault's phenomenal legacy.
